Job Summary:
The Retail Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring that all retail operations and activities within the organization comply with legal requirements, industry regulations, and company policies. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, a strong understanding of retail compliance standards, and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop, implement, and monitor retail compliance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
2. Conduct regular audits of retail operations, including store locations, inventory management, and point-of-sale systems, to identify and resolve compliance issues.
3. Review and update compliance documentation, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with current regulations and internal policies.
4. Collaborate with the Retail Operations Manager and other stakeholders to identify potential compliance risks and develop proactive solutions.
5. Stay informed about changes in retail compliance laws, regulations, and industry best practices, and communicate updates to relevant teams.
6. Provide guidance and training to retail staff on compliance-related topics, including customer privacy, product labeling, and safety standards.
7. Investigate and respond to any compliance-related complaints, incidents, or breaches in a timely and appropriate manner.
8. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to retail compliance activities, audits, and corrective actions.
9. Collaborate with internal and external auditors during compliance audits and inspections.
10. Prepare reports and presentations on compliance-related matters for senior management as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field.
2. Proven experience (X years) working in a retail compliance role, preferably in a management capacity.
3. Strong knowledge of retail industry regulations and compliance standards.
4. Excellent understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks governing retail operations.
5. Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply complex compliance requirements effectively.
6. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
8. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
9. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
10. Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
11. Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
12. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and integrity.
